I had the opportunity to present at Creative Mornings Brisbane, and with a theme like Pattern it was impossible to resist. Creative Mornings has chapters in 243 cities around the world, and delivers these amazing talks for free. With breakfast! The Brisbane chapter is wrangled and emceed by the amazing Tamara Shiewe, who really knows how to put on an event.
Creative Mornings - Pattern
I went down the rabbit hole while I was writing and researching, and reckon I could've talked about it for an hour! The theme of Pattern was a great jumping off point for connecting the creative practice of noticing with making sense of life experiences. I burned through a bunch of tangents and showed my work on the big screen, while the audience played around with a repeating pattern activity.
There were lots of familiar faces and so many lovely new folks to meet. Honorable mentions have to go to Lyndal Carmichael for her gorgeous photography, Laura Brinin for being Laura Brinin, and Kim Wheeler for being the impromptu teachers assistant. Felons Barrel Hall was a fantastic venue. It was overall a delightful experience.
